No doubt this is covered somewhere... but I've searched several faqs and cannot find the info. I have developed a very simple 4 page website (not using FP) and need to replace an older FP generated web on an FP enabled server. Can I use standard FTP clientware to do this? When I access the IP address with my ftp client (I do have the account ID and password to log on) I see only an empty root directory and have no permission to get or put files.. If it's not possible to do this with ftp, can I simply import my non-FP pages into FP and publish to this server without any changes? Thanks for any guidance. Kenn

The pages I need to put up are all std html (use no FP bot features). I will try to use my customer's FP application to publish the new site if I can't figure out how to do it from my own machine with ftp. But I'm still puzzled by the fact that the current FP pages are invisible to to my ftp clientware. They are being served on the web at www. eddiesguitars.com but the ftp server directory for these pages appears to be empty when accessed with ftp, and attempts to put files there fail with "Access denied" responses from the server (Windows_NT version 4.0 apparently) Does anyone know why this existing FP web would not be seen and accessible by my Fetch or Dreamweaver ftp applications? The only two possibilities I can think of are: 1. You may have to search out the correct directory where the files may be. (I had to do this once. The files were in an odd directory and my FTP program would not default there.) 2. The host may have to turn on FTP privileges to that directory in order for you to be able to ftp there. Thanks again to Gene for his helpful replies. For anyone who may have followed this thread, here briefly is how the problem was resolved. The host did at last turn on ftp services for this NT based FP server, which made the old files visible to my ftp clients. Unfortunately my any attempt to delete existing or put new files returned "Access denied" msgs from the server. : [ Finally at my request the customer's virtual domain was redirected to a non-NT non FP enabled server...
