Front Page Extensions Error - 2/21/2001 13:55:00
Hi Y'all I am using a FORM in FP2000 I have some questions on form and would answers emailed to a certain address...When I go to add an Email Address in form properties I get the following message: "the form is being created on a diskbased web or the FP extensions have not been configured to send Email"Well, I am using FP200 with Frontpage extensions (fpse2k_x86_ENG.exe) dated 11/23/2000...and I am using PSW... When I run the page in PWS or uploaded to the site I get the following 'Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions' Smart HTML interpreter on this non-HTML page: "http://localhost/ASPTest13/test.htm"' Can anyone tell me what is wrong here? I have reinstalled PWS - FP extensions and Fp2000 quite a bit byt cannot resolve this.. Thanks Cheers

You have to enter the email information into tyhe Server Extensions Manager. Highlight the web (root) and right click for the options. There will be an area for you to add this info. This will stop this message. Even with the extensions installed, some items need to be published on a server in order to work completely correct. But this should solve the error message.------------------ Life Is Grand! Gene White WebTeky Full Service Web Development http://www.webteky.com/ http://www.webteky.net

I receive this error on all forms I setup using email. I answer no and the form works fine. Even answering yes to the prompt allows the form to work and send email. I have the address and smtp mail server setup as specified in the options area on the web root but the error notice persists. But as long as the forms work I am unconcerned. I am having an issue with an attempt to add the File Upload field to a form. As soon as the File Upload field is added I get the - Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions' Smart HTML interpreter on this non-HTML page: When the form is submitted. I have not determined the cause but would appreciate any help provided.
