Email using PWS - 3/4/2001 16:58:00
I'm trying to create an environment on my computer so I can test stuff locally before I publish it to my web hosting service's server. I'm running Windows 98 with Personal Web Server whereas my web host is running Windows NT or Windows 2000 with IIS.My current challenge is with email. I was able to successfully set up Frontpage 2000 to email from a form (using FP server extensions?). Now I've written my own ASP email code and I'm trying to figure out how to test it with PWS. Does PWS have any email features or do I need some kind of add-on? Is there any way to set this up so I can use the same ASP email code both on my computer locally and also on my web host.

You can't send email from your work station, that requires a SMTP server. You can test your code up to actually sending the email and if you get no errors that far it should run on the server------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality
