sharing violation - 3/6/2001 20:25:00

FP refuses to delete some folders... these contain some .htm in the _vti_cfn folders... unable to delete these on the server (Win2k): error msg "Cannot delete 'nameit'. there has been sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use."

This doesn't affect the functionning of anything... but I don't like these leftovers...

I had two of such probs... For the one it did work, for the other it didn't... I could delete a ghost .gif file... I couldn't delete a ghost .htm file... That last one is part of a site I was working in with FP when your msg came in... I closed FP and stopped the site... Maybe I have to wait for some timers to run off... How d'you think? hard to say, sometimes closing FP then getting back in and trying it will work to. if all else fails and if you have access to it go right to the source which would be the server.

open explorer drill down to the web then delete away.(paying attention to what your deleteing of course )

Anyone an advise? (in reply to Charybde)

I was logged with highest clearances...

Worser: today I lost ASP functionality of one of my websites... without any appearent reason... everything checked, compared and seems ok... other websites on same server do ASP... it is a FP2k site hosted on a win2k svr...

Anyone experienced such?
