Does it still serve htm pages? More than likely youll need to ask the host to reboot.

Thanks for answer Spooky... What surprises me is that appart from processing ASP this website operates correctly... The other websites hosted on the same Win2K svr / IIS 5.0 do operate correctly, ASP inclusive --well, as far I can see it! I have experienced 3 *funny* behaviors on that server lately: 1. ghost FP files I can't delete, even on the server ("sharing violation") 2. FP2K does not open a website (no error msg), FP98 does well (2 cases) 3. loss of ASP processing on 1 website ("http 5000 intenal server error") D'you think reboot could solve these? (I don't like to reboot so often a server)... TIA

Remember that 500 errors are a sign of script errors and not server problems, to see the actual script error, turn off friendly messages in Explorer

It seems it is the 500 not the 500-100 (but I don't know if this matters here in fact). This is the error msg: -2147417848 (0x80010108) (Couldn't find anything about this code) The page is a test page: now.asp in root dir with in body: <p>date/time: <%= Now %> (BXL)</p> Works on others websites on same server. Thanks for your time...

This is a known problem I am having as well. Have tried all the fixes:friendly errors and such...nobody seems to have a working fix. I think it started happening after applying the patch for code red. -ben

Hello,The problems I described could be solved by: - stop the web - recalculate the web (on the server) - uninstall/reinstall the fp extensions - retart the web This has to be done 2 or 3 times in some cases. Don't ask me WHY! *LOL* Rebooting the server can help surly aswell. As far code red is concerned I didn't notice any side effect from applying the patche and rebooting (3 servers: 2 w2k, 1 nt4). However I remember having read last week about such experiences. Uninstalling the patch was said to solve these probs. Good luck!

The site that's crashed, does it use Access? I'm betting dollars to doughnuts it uses access and the others do not. If so and assuming it's w2k go to dos and type iisreset and see if it will load. Also make sure you have the 'show http friendly error messages' checkbox in Internet Explorers options UNCHECKED so you can get any error messages it may be throwing at you.Jess

Yes, I'm using access. Is it known to cause such problems? Please note these probs started i the begin of this year when websites became actively visited. No probs for visitors reported, but maintenance isn't that easy! TIA

Access can not handle more than 20 concurrent connections at one time. Chances are your site or a site on the same server as you uses more than 20 concurrent access connections and this is crashing the jet engine that access uses. If you're using more than 20 concurrent sessions look to upsize to sql server (it's really easy to do too). Jess
