Enabling SSI - 4/10/2001 20:27:00
I am creating a web that will be on a server available free of charge to my client but which is causing me considerable headaches.

First they gave me no CGI bin - after a heap of e mails and phone calls I got one. Then the server would not recognise index.shtml as a home page - more e mails, more phone calls, fixed. Now I cannot get SSI's to work, they say it is not to do with them. I know it is not my fault - the include is just not happening.

It is a unix server. What do I need to tell them to do to get SSI to work?

No FP extensions, which is fine and I have no problem with.

Katherine - if they don't know, it won't matter, they won't be on line long enough to host much

Thanks Rian.

Um, they just might... they are the government I am sure they know plenty about the server - it's just very difficult to get through the beurocracy to someone who know. If you know what to tell them to do the message seems to land a bit quicker.
