Windows 2000 vs FrontPage Security - 4/25/2001 13:39:00
I have a web, with a folder called common where I stick loads of common template type files for my users to access.I want to make all these files read only so that my users can't change them, but just load them. If I set them to read only, Frontpage overrides the permissions and lets my users roam all over them. Anyone else come across this? Or should I be protecting my files in another way? I tried using templates but these have to be put on each client (too many) and templates don't take style sheets with them. Nightmare.

i may be wrong but to the best of my knowledge you won't be able to do this in FP. dreamweaver does have this capability. not an endorsement or enticement to switch just passing along an option........------------------ storm...
