root web busy - 5/10/2001 19:04:00
Help!!
When people try to send forms on our site, the form is not sent, and a message comes up:
"Web is busy. Try again later."
Well, it's been busy all day! and um, I can't even open FrontPage, because it says the Root Web is busy. Our IT guy says it's just an overloaded form data file, but the data file only has 3 small files in it.

Hi: I just went through his myself. Somehow, I think you were shut down in the middle of a publish. I opened up my web site in WFSTP and went to the "_vti_pvt" folder. Inside of that folder you will find a file called "service.lck". You must get rid of that file. I just renamed mine "service.old". FrontPage just made a new file called "service.lck" when I published.

I don't know where WFSTP is. But anyhow, apparently the problem is fixed. We don't know what caused it, really. Thanks.
