It took so long to load that I didn't stick around to review. Have you done something like a www.netmechanic.com analysis on the site for load time and pix optimization?

although at 1.5 mb you probably don't need to use it to find out it's too big (even though your server is fast!)

Yeah. At dial up speed it says the load time is about 8 minutes.

The reason it may not take long for you is that you designed the site on your computer and all the images are cached on your computer. You'll never have any load time problems because they are already there. For the rest of us, until we actually go onto a page, and let all the images load onto our system (they are cached in our Temporary Internet Files), the load time is unbearable. Once thos images load on my computer, the load time is significanlty reduced. But, once I delete my cookies and temp internet files, it will take that same 8 minutes to load all over again if I want to access your site. A general rule of thumb that I follow is to have a load time of about 12-15 seconds for dial up - or a page of roughly 50K in HTML and images. Not always feasible, but I've found it a good rule of thumb. (Imagine paging through a newspaper and having a blank ad area that takes 8 minutes to suudenly appear on the page. Are you going to wait around for it to pop in?)

Good luck with it. You may want to read up on "resampling" your photos. Basically when you take a very large photo file, like you're using, and resize them in Front Page, they will stay the same size unless you "resample" them. Click the image and when the image toolbar pops up on the bottom of the page, select the reimage tool and you'll then be able to see the difference.

you might want to distribute the content to it to more pages, to spread the load re: front page, the text would be better saved as a gif (from the original)

One thing that is bothersome for me is that the scroll bar appears at 800x600 resolution. Have you checked that your tables are set to 100%? Or perhaps resampling the picture sizes down either further. The amount of content inside a table shouldn't exceed around 750pixels+ or -. Somebody may have more exacting numbers on that.
