Does this logo/graphic work for you? - 2/29/2004 11:00:15
We are thinking of using this graphic design for a satire page that we are doing for a client.

Not worried about the rest of the page layout just yet, only the graphic/text in banner.

Too big?

Thank you.

Hi Minix,

For my $.02 yes it is too big. At 1024 x 768 the graphic/text eat up fully half my screen, more if the hours and intro are part of what you're asking about. Personally I would try something like this (but that's only me:))
:)

Thank you.

I would do something like this:

- Did a good job in his perspective. I would actually use his for the main page, and for every subpage, use the screenshot I uploaded in this picture.

Having such a large header on each page could lead into a few disasters, but it looks very nice for the home page.

I would have to agree with Bobby. I would only use the graphic on subsequent pages (something like what Bobby shows) and not the hours and Welcome blurb.:)

I wouldn't make it any larger, for sure. You "might" make it a wee bit smaller.

Where in the world do you get graphics like that?

Good luck.

Thanks for the input, folks. I forgot to mention that this will be the only page on the site with this theme - it's sort of a one time thing for a singles party promotion. The rest of the site is markedly different.

As far as the graphic, I created that using my new graphics package and some wing dings.

hoosier,

didn't you use to have a bull and a bear on your site? Here's more practice on my part.

They may not work on your particular site scheme, unless maybe you downsized them and put a smaller version next to your Word Art banner title.

As far as your Word Art concern, I wrote up a thing that I did with Word Art to change it into a jpeg very easily. That would alleviate your concern about Word Art showing up. You can probably search for it if you need that alternative.

hey dave,

Right now I'm using RealDraw Pro. I got the 30 day trial and it's very easy to learn.

I also have PSP 8, but I haven't looked at it yet - it's the 60 day trial and I plan on getting into it next week.

I'm not much of a designer, but I recently lost the person who did that type of work to a sudden relocation, so I'm looking at what I can do with these different tools.

Before I used to tell him "Give me an Irish pub sports bar theme, primarily greens and heavy on some shamrocks. etc,....and poof he'd have it.

Now I find myself talking to myself a lot.
