Here is the most recent revamp of one of my sites, and there's a big gap at the top, what would people like to see there? if at all.
Whether it be and image, flash banner, or just some text, NO ADS.

Don't know.
No idea if you're trying to sell music, or if it's just your personal music site, or if your a band, or trying to sell music lessons or..... the possibilities are endless.

yep music related - something that says "streaming music written by you" well ok something a bit more abstract... what are you using to make the music? if it's computer based then weave that into the image, and/otherwise just some sort of text that explains what the site is for.

Maybe something simple, using the classic symbols?
Maybe these colored to match your blue spheres or maybe they are better with their colors as is?

Agree with a spicer, more "music" directed logo.
I would make a blend of music related "this and that" for your header - incorporate the logo into it.
I don't see a need for the scroll under, but that is just a personal taste.
I would also take the borders off the buttons, or use something else, and the same for the content area - no border.
Just my opinions.

I have altered the layout so the text doesn't scroll under the header etc, and so that it's a fixed design rather than fluid. Just need to spice it up now, bit of salt, bit of pepper.......

The second image in the with the blue background look like it should be on a rock site, looks good, but wouldn't suit this site

Top image has changed, now to do the nav, I don't want to use roll over images with JavaScript, might do it with CSS, but definitly not JavaScript

I can send you the rdw file if you'd like to manipulate it even more. Might give you a better quality on resizing, cropping etc.

Dan,
Didn't realize that the clubbers weren't showing up with that background color as well as you might like. I'm not sure what you mean by providing a link to the rdw file which resides on my local hard drive. Please explain how I might do that and you can color it yourself.
In the meantime, try this new rendition.

When using Real Draw, you save it as .jpg/png/gif etc. But the main file it saves as is .rdw, yes? I assume your saving the project files like so. Upload the relevant .rdw file to your server then post alink that looks something like so:
http://www.yourdomain.com/therealdrawfile.rdw
