Criticize it, if you can? - 3/10/2004 9:30:56
http://www.dabclub.com I've just completed this project... This forum has given me lot of information... Note: All the website is made 100% in FP2003 and Access2003 So, criticize it if you can? (This mean, if you have the knowledge and criticize it, not to suggest me new elements.)

Ok, you asked for it lose the hit counter, or make it invis, it's not very professional anymore. If you keep it, get one that runs on cookies, i refreshed the page and it went up one, thats not very good now is it? Horz Nav - Make the links do something on mouse over, they look boring and look like they are just their for decoration at the moment. Vert Nav - bit crammed for my liking, spread them out a bit. The layout of the main page content seems as bit jumbled to me. Try aligning the boxes etc, things look out of place as are. All Personal preferences there, so if you want just totally ignore it Dan

No too bad... I agree with Dan - it is a bit cluttered. * I would loose the top blue bar and navigation; you have the same information in the RED bar under the FLASH. * I would do away with the blue area with text (the name of the site), justify the FLASH (if you must use it) to the Left, and make the entire header area the same red as is displayed in the FLASH. * If you MUST use FLASH at the top of your pages, I would have it ONLY display the site/company name - Get rid of the INTERNET PORTAL & ADVERTISE HERE. There is no reason to say you are an internet portal in the movie - that is obvious upon entry. Advertising opportunities for a web portal needent be so blatant... Make a separate banner, or better yet page for that. * You have all the CONTENT (photos, polls and interesting stuff) all on the RIGHT. I would instead, move that to the center it, enclosing it within the two side navigation areas. * I agree again with Dan - - - loose the counter. *I would capitalize the "G" in eGreeting. * On the inner pages, I would remove the bar (I saw it in yellow and red on several different pages) that is next to the left side navigation. * Lastly, I would change the word COPYRIGHTED to COPYRIGHT in the bar at the bottom.

At least you're confident, setting your Hit Counter to be ready to reach 1 Billion visitors. Maybe I'll just sit here and keep refreshing it all day just to watch it hit the milestones. And I'd do that except that flashing strobe light banner thing is really annoying, to the point that I' m sure I'd go postal after a little while of that. So I left the site as soon as possible.

no doctype http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A//www.dabclub.com/ littered with font tags, and possibly some other deprecated/invalid markup ditto more or less evrything above. maybe or "e-Greeting" might work better?? as the rest of the links have capitalised initial letters. (or "E-greeting", "E-Greeting", "e-greeting") huh just remembered that i can actually turn off the flash movie (right-click + loop/play), but maybe it could play just a couple of times then stop? otherwise looks good (barring the misalignment issues of your table cells)

The fish wallpaper in the desktop section looks remarkably similar to a wallpaper which I am pretty sure comes as standard in Windows XP. I would change it otherwise it won't be long before you hear from Mr Gates!! Andy

Lose all the ones that don't have your trademark etc on, including the films etc, unless you want to be forking out for copyright infringements etc

You need to fix your links on the Contacts page, Home is pointing to http://www.dabclub.com/index.asp Whereas your home page is default.asp and so you get page not found. Recalculate hyperlinks, and check in the reports view for unlinked files, there may be more. Caz

Dear All, As you all know it is a very big site... I am re-touching all the website and I hope I'll consider all the errors/mistakes you have pointed for the betterment of the site. Actually I am from Pakistan and the Internet speed for uploading is 2kbps (average) and download is 4kbps (average) and the size of the site is 300MB, so it will take much more time to re-upload... I want to fix all the problems and then finally upload all the files. Another thing. If you can better redesign the frontpage do it for me and then paste the source code of the layout of frontpage, don't forget to give the colors... it would be very easy for that I would become know the real Professionalism. Thanks

This is much improved and I for one don't find the home page too cluttered, you have a lot of content to offer and I think that this comes across in a very organised look. Your internal links all seem to work properly now - as far as I can see, you do have a lot of content to organise and possibly the client wants it like that? One thing you might like to consider in your About section eg. http://www.dabclub.com/hazara/mansehra.htm is to add maps here to give some geographical help in what is a very interesting feature. Secondly, the content in these sections often requires a lot of scrolling and you could usefully add a list of secondary headings at the top of the article which link to the relevant bookmarks lower down. You have done that elsewhere and it is so useful for breaking long chunks of text into easily read arcticles. In your footer please change "Copyrights" to "Copyright", singular is all that is needed. Anything else on the site which has it's own individual copyright should also show it's own copyright statement. Keep the lawyers happy This has been a mammoth task I think, and you have done well with it; no doubt you will continue to streamline it as it grows in future. Again, well done and I hope that you continue to enjoy your work. Cheers Carol

Carol has covered everything BUT the wallpapers. A lot of the desktop ones - You need to remove them. You have certain ones that come with Windows XP, and on the XP disc I have, in the Value Added section, there are wallpapers from there too. Remove them, unless you have written permission from MS to use them. There are also ones form Visual Paradox in there, with dabclub.com on them - bad move, if they find them, you'll be taken to the cleaners, either remove your digi signature from them, or remove them from the site. I'm not doing this for my saftey, it's for yours. You are breaking several copyright laws here, if you don't have written permission from MS/Visual Paradox and others that you have taken wallpapers from for usage on the site Dan Edit: Typos

Great content rich site. I like the Wallpapers Not sure how Hollywood becomes Bollywood & Lollywood. Must be something local. Could use an explanation for international users. Content before formatting.

abdulsamikhan, All in all, a great site when one realizes that American English is not your native language. Are all of the history pages a result of your research? I was very impressed with its depth.
