New site or old site? - 3/11/2004 17:46:07
Okay... which one looks less conusing? (Do note that it is a WIP)

A) http://babysunprotection.com/shop/default2.asp

B) http://babysunprotection.com/shop/default.asp

I seem to get several orders and very few abandoned carts, but I am still getting bad results from epinions surveys on the design of the site and ease of finding products.

Thanks :)

I think you need to put your Add to Cart button next to the View Cart button; it's what people are accustomed to. I really had to search to find it way out on the right there.

Maybe have the "add" button open up a little pop up window for them to add in their quantity.

I like the first site best, except for the add to cart button. I like the different colors at the top instead of the stacked tabs.

The second one for me. It somehow looks cleaner and I prefer the menu.

The first site or the first link??

I have done a lot of modifications, so the template I am working on now is not linked to the site.

As long as I am on the right track, I will keep plugging away. I used to have the add to cart along with the "view" but people were complaining because they weren't noticing stock information and if they didn't receive their order within a week, they would go straight to the credit card company!!

wow. I don't ever expect anything I order online to come sooner than ten days after I place my order. I don't think I'd even get concerned if it took two weeks, unless of course, I paid for express shipping.

But I like your first site - the "default" one, not "default2", better. Both look nice, but I prefer the bottom link (I assume that the bottom one is the first site you made, right?)

I vote for the second one... products seem to jump right out at me on that version.

Definately the second link - I too like the menu and it seems to have more colour.

Summer,

I think the problem with the 1st one is the purple is too bright. It seems like the color is to something.....

Having the mixed colors on 2nd works better.

I am

The epinions results don't look that bad:

quote:

How difficult was it to find these products?

From what I'm reading, the majority found it easy to find the products on your site

quote:

How does the merchant's overall web site design and quality compare with that of other merchants you have visited?

The majority say your site layout and design is good, followed by Excellent, c'mon, it can't be that bad

quote:

How extensive are the product information and specifications available on this merchant's site?

Again dominated by good, but excellent is the next one behind it

It's not all that bad, cheer up

Dan

The second one.

(Although I'm still confused on whether you mean that the first one listed is actually the first one or that because it's default2 that means that it could be the second one and the original default is in reality the first one, even though it's listed second.)
