Is it true - FP can only support 300 file webs? - 6/18/2001 22:40:00

I've now heard from a couple of sources that once a web (or subweb) contains 200-300 files (which includes image, theme, border, button files, etc.) then the extentions become corrupted. Is this true?

If so, what can I do about it? I intend to create lots of sub-folders, but I don't want to be creating lots of sub-webs.

Any direction on this issue would be appreciated.

Just to clarify...
Is the 9000 page site all under one web, or does the 9000 count the files in sub-webs? My understanding of the issue is that the problem occurs when there are greater than 200 or 300 files in one web and the solution is to break the one web up into many sub-webs.

How do idiotic rumours like this get started? Wanna see the antithesis of this "fact" in action?

The number of files has no bearing on anything except publishing w/o a break in the upload. A large site can be interrupted when uploading all that info, but that has nothing to do with extension functionality.
