end-user password-- how do I find it? - 6/19/2001 15:02:00
Does/has anyone here had problems with their end-user passwords?

I am *this close* to 'publishing' with FPSEs. I downloaded the new ones today. Just installed them and now, in order for me to 'publish web' it asks me for a end-user password.

I don't understand where anyone got permission, or was even assigned end-user passwords and logins. I tried to use my login name and password for my network but it did not work.

I also would like to know the difference between these two things:

1) Pressing 'Publish Web' and pubishing out of FP2K.

--and--

2) Copying the into the InetPub\wwwroot directory and starting and stopping it from the 'Management Console'.

SO confusing.

Right now I have done the second one up there. I am wondering if that's why my SEs never worked.

You need to do #1

As to your username and password, you have to assign permissions to each web.

Second, you need to spend some time at the MS website, like here:

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q216/7/05.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=permissions%20IIS&rnk=5&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=FP2000
