? E mailing question - 3/15/2004 10:01:00
Hello all!

I'm confused a bit on these e mail programs? I'm the web administrator for our small company and I set up our VP with an bulk e mail program. Does anyone know how it works when you import a page from the web for sending html e mails? I want to know if i'm wasting my time making a web page for them to import, or if it is just as fast if he makes it on his computer and sends it out? is there and advantage to having it import the html from our site?

Are you talking about spamming people?

I wouldn't say that you are wasting your time, just maybe not using your resources to their greatest efficiency. If your boss is versed in HTML, then it seems like it would be a lot faster for him to just do it. Less edits, less file transfers, and more accountability for him.

bulk mail still has a value in things like opt-in newsletters, employee communications, etc. I think by definition SPAM means unsolicited e-mail.

No spamming, we have about 2500 attendees for a tradeshow and about 500 exhibitors and we have to do e mail alerts.

My boss downloaded e-campaign which works great. I couldn't tell if he builds a page using it's editor and inserts pictures, does it pull that picture and send, then open up the next e mail, pull the pics and send and so on? if so that would take forever. It seems like if you have a webpage with links to the pics it Zips them out extremley fast and looks the same.

I hope this is making sense....I'm not great at getting tech points across. Thanks for the responses!! :)

While this would be the most efficient, most of the newsletters I get send me the pictures as well. You can tell by the filesize of the e-mail. Sorry, I don't know about the e-campaign program, but you seem to on track with it.
