cooper -> Logo redo for $35? (3/15/2004 23:38:11)

I have a client who needs a dressier logo but is as short on funds as I am on ideas [;)]

Take a look at www.unique-idea.com and let me know if you are willing to whip up a logo for $35 from my PayPal account. They want to keep the light bulb idea.

Thanks!

can we get a size, and maybe some color specifications...

Minix -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/16/2004 5:54:48)

edit for clarification

For what it's worth, here's my effort:

that looks really good!

p.s. i'll be having a bash at it this afternoon if there's still time?

There is still time. I like what Giomanach has done.

For those inquiring about color, size, etc. Simply right click on the existing logo and copy it into your image program. I am looking for the same size and background color.

Thanks!

hello cooper,

would you like to see any of my attempts resized to the proper specs? And what is that font?

d a v e -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/16/2004 13:01:18)

my attempt(s)

How do you post images as the viewable attachement rather than through a web site link?

Are they uploaded directly off of my hard drive?

Thanks

Minix -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/16/2004 14:12:02)

Well that was fun!

After playing with that for a good portion of the day, I just had a unique idea. I'm going over to the pub and enjoy happy hour!

MY LIGHT BULBS

re: upload images
(don't use fast reply) and use embed picture in post - click here to upload and browse to the file on your hard drive (only 1 file)
like this... (sorry had 2 more quick ideas...)

Dave,

My customer likes the last one you did with the 9 lightbulbs, one lit. Let me know your PayPal address and I'll send you the $$.

Thanks!

d a v e -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/17/2004 4:53:08)

thanks! i've sent you a private message :)

JointComms -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/17/2004 6:31:39)

Way to go David - had I been the client, I too would have chosen that one.

Nice effort from your end too Gio and Mini

d a v e -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/17/2004 6:39:23)

i think gio's works better at that size , but hey it's what the client chooses!

Giomanach -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/17/2004 6:41:35)

It's only $35 US, so in my terms around £25. Pocket Change[:)] Well Done Dave, I might take more than 30 seconds next time[:D]

d a v e -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/17/2004 6:57:02)

actually it's less than £20! but it's £20 more than you paid for yours ;) nah only joking.
it didn't *take* me that long to do and if you think it's a book or a cd and half then it seems fair enough to me.

as for pocket change - it depends how empty your pockets are!
i must say though that while clients generally think nothing of paying like £40 an hour for plumbers/car mechanics/electricians (who all do good work and deserve it etc) or at least they still pay if they want their heating/electric/car to work, they (clients) are really aghast at paying design rates and would rather try and knock up some half-arsed effort than pay a multi-disciplinary designer/developer their due. I think even teachers are considered as professionals more than web designers ;)

well that's my 2 euros! no offense intened to teachers and trades people. I have many friends who are teachers, and er none that are trades people (well my girlfriend's brother is builder and a darn good one)

Me - Big Pockets - always filled with rattling change, yet I never seem to have any money???? Explain that one

d a v e -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (3/17/2004 7:17:59)

obviously you're a generous person! (that's why you never keep your money long)
;)

fullestop -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (4/11/2004 8:40:09)

let me give it a shot and i will get back

d a v e -> RE: Logo redo for $35? (4/12/2004 12:57:12)

it's been done! (it was nearly four weeks since the original post) see www.unique-idea.com , thought i'd better let you know so didn't waste any time/effort!
