Form Error - "service.lck" - 3/22/2004 14:56:54
I am having problems with my FrontPage forms. When
submitted the browser displays the standard "FrontPage
Error. User: please report details to this site's
webmaster. Webmaster: please see the server's
application event log for more details."

The application log has two entries:
1) Event ID 1000
http://url.com MS Frontpage Server Extensions: Error
#2005d Message: The server extensions were unable to
access the file "service.lck". Please check the file
permissions.

2) Events ID 1000
MS Frontpage Server Extensions: (OS Error #13 Message:
Permission denied.)

I have reinstalled FP02 Extensions, uninstalled and reinstalled IIS, and deleted the service.lck file in the appropriate subweb and the main web - all to no avail. My project clock is steadily ticking past the deadline.

I am dying here, any help would be greatly appreciated!

well, heres what Microsoft has to say and it's ugly...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813735&Product=fp2002

have you checked the access permissions on the file?

I think I recall creating a dummy service.lck file with the appropriate permissions, and that it worked. You can just create a notepad file, save it and rename it to service.lck, see what happens...
