What do you envision? - 3/23/2004 17:56:42
Ok, this does not happen often, but I am having a brain lapse while working on this darn logo.

1. The client is a search engine marketing company
2. The focus is on RESULTS
3. They want something crisp, clean and 2004

The message from the client states:

"Take soANDso’s personality and flare for BMWs and throw in soANDso2’s new taste in a Black Viper then think of the message that we are trying to convey being an effective marketing machine"

So, with all that in mind, what do you see? I could use a kick in the right direction.....

Obviously they want chicks to dig them, so they definitely need this logo to circumvent their envy problem....

I see something masculine, if not block-like for a logo... simply the company name... maybe with a tag line to the effect of "Focus on Results"

I'm partial to greens and blues, with a touch of medium grey thrown in...

Bobby,

Thanks for your reply, and some direction - I appreciate your time.

As much as I would like to play with colors, I have to stay within the color scheme of the current design. This is a current client of mine, a site that I did about two months ago. They do not want to pay for a whole new design, or for me to change the color scheme, but found that the logo that they had is not working for them.... probably due to the word "sniper"... so they want a new logo, with the above specs that fits with the current design.

Here is the current site:

http://www.sniperdirect.com

Lori.

What is it that causes the slight horizontal scroll bar at 800x600 on the Sniper site?

I tried to figure it out but am not savvy enough to determine it.

Hmmm, I am not sure. I gave up the site to them after implementation, and they made some changes to it I would assume.
I will email them and tell them about it, and maybe the current webmaster will know why....

(the reason I am not the WM for this one, is that they have in house designers they they use for small work like this)

Thanks for looking, and letting me know!

It happens on all he pages.

And one more thing. Why do I get this error when I first go into the site:

A run time error has occured. Do you wish to debug?
Line : 5 Error: Expected ')'

Is that soemthing on my end or is it a browser thing? I get that same message with a different Line and Error on a few sites that I go into.

Like this one - OutFront, everytime I go to post a thread reply.

I can help you with that.... first, is it always different lines? (I would assume yes, but want to check)

What browser are you using?

If IE then:

Open Internet Explorer - click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced. Make sure Disable script debugging is ticked and Display a notification about every script error is unticked then Apply and OK your way out...

This happens when IE cannot render the javascript properly - make sure you have the most up to date version.

SO, do they want to keep sniperdirect.com as the URl but change the logo and the name attached to it? I can see why they would want to get rid of the sniper conotation.

But how do you have it both ways?

For instance, I can see a needle in a haystack type of logo - that's safe and may get the point across, but still if I go to sniperdirect it doesn't jive.

Aren't they married to the sniper url?

Hey, that did it. Thank you. And to think that I thought my only alternative tool to get it to stop was a ball peen hammer.

I feel so educated now.

What do you all think of this ( I know it looks a bit pixelated, but that is due to the original size of it, and I care little about perfecting it until it is approved)

thoughts?

it looks awesome in small size too
they gave you quite a long name to work with

it's smooth and sharp, but typical, if you know what i mean

but this one goes really well with the site itself
