Swish and .AVI - 3/31/2004 15:35:30
Now I know this has been a topic before but I want to elaborate on it a bit more. I took a .dem file from counter strike and created it into a .avi. Now I converted that .avi to .swf and imported it onto Swish and this is what I get when I click show file information:

File length: 2708269 bytes (2655409 bytes filesize)
Frame size: 550 x 400 pixels
Frame rate: 12.00 frames/sec
Total number of frames: 219 frames

- Entire Movie ----Tags---------------

The following were read:
+ Header: 21 bytes
+ PlaceTags: 219 1534 bytes
+ ShowFrames: 219 438 bytes
+ BgColor: 1 5 bytes

The following were unable to be imported:
+ Videos: 220 5411218 bytes

Anyone know why it can't import the video portion of the .avi file?

AVI = Audio Video Interlace

SWISH = FLASH

Swish will extract the audio, but not the video. This is purely because in the AVI, they are one thing, interlaced from two. Converting it to FLASH will create an embedded MP3 and MPG video. I don't think SWISH likes MPGs, might be wrong though, I just work with FLASH, not SWISH

BTW Welcome to Outfront

ok so this is a little old but it may show up in a search. take your avi and if you have powerpoint bring it into that. Make sure you select all frames. now save the powerpoint as a windows meta file (wmf)and import that into swish. You gotta find weird ways to do things when you work with swish v2:)

This one's a no-brainer. Import the avi file into Swishmax. Swish outputs SWF files, but you cannot import them into it. You can import and export most everything else. Try going to www.swishzone.com, all the answers in the world are right there.
