Other options for FP extensions? - 8/16/2001 14:45:00
Hi,I am building a site for someone who has a hosting service with no FP extensions installed. (guess it's an old one). What are my alternatives? Can I FTP? (how would I do this?) Switch to DW? I finished the homepage and it looks like it may develop to over 20 pages long. Your help is most appreciated Herman

Thanks Gil - not having FTPed before, it sounds foreign to me.(one file at a time seems very slow if you have many files).I thought you could only upload through FP extensions. Are you saying one can FTP just through the command prompt? Regards Herman

Yeah Herman, millions of files were transferred from the command line before all the cute WS_Ftp & Cute FTP programs. But realisticly, get WS_Ftp - a couple of sessions and it'll seem so easy...------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Indecision may or may not be my problem"

Catch? Just that the FP "Bots" will only work on a server configured with the extensions. You'll need to use a Perl/PHP/etc script for forms & any Database functionality. ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Indecision may or may not be my problem"
