IIS 5.0 - 8/20/2001 20:55:00
quick question, I have windows 2k on the D drive. C drive is just empty space, Well I have IIs 5.0 and frontpage extensions 2002 installed on it. when I go to publish web and type in http://localhost/websitename, it says it isn't accessible. I tried http://computername, I tried http:// hm, the only way I can publish it is to go to d:/inetpub/wwwroot to do it. Will this still work? and how can i make it work the other way http://localhost/computer name.

AFAIK, Windows will not find the web server unless it is on the C drive. Why would your OS be on a drive other than C ??? ------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Indecision may or may not be my problem"

Reformat and load the OS on C is my only suggestion...------------------ Gil Harvey The Host Factory Resellers are our speciality "Indecision may or may not be my problem"

It should work ( sorry to disgree Gill) but if everything is installed as D and IIs knows that webstuff is on d:\wwwroot then it should all work.I used to run a bunch of SQL servers all configured on Drive D and they did webservers too.
