It's illegal to spam, too. Go figure. I have over 50 domains names with them (25 are mine personally) and I have never had a problem. quote:
We have created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our commitment to you, our customer. This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for this site, www.godaddy.com. - We do not rent our mailing list to 3rd parties.
- We only send email and postal mail to those who have elected to receive it from us.* You can opt-out of receiving these notices by logging into the customer information area from the "My Account" section.
- If we find that any account with us is being used for the purpose of sending spam, we take action to shut it down as soon as possible.
Domain name registration information legally has to be available to the public. Since domain name registration information is available to the public, anyone can access it through "whois" searches. The Whois database is a publicly accessible database that lists the domain name and contact information of each registrant. The domain name registration you provide is hosted by us to the public. At times our customers may have been included within searches of the whois database. However, the spam they receive does not in any way come from Go Daddy Software. Go Daddy Software is a licensee of the TRUSTe Privacy Program. If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, you should first contact Go Daddy Software at godaddy@godaddy.com or call (480) 505-8800. If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry or your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed, you should then contact TRUSTe. TRUSTe will then serve as a liaison with the Web site to resolve your concerns. Maybe you opted in? Pity... All this time I thought they did so well because they offered a great ordering and maintenance process (which is leaps and bounds better than the others out there for novice users), great products, even better prices and topped it off with a little bit of great customer support (without an 800 number sucking up their profits).
