moving images - 4/6/2004 9:43:53
I figured i would repost my question since the problem is not n PS. anyway, I made a border for the pictures on my web site and some text in ps6, but when i put them on the page in FP and view them they are all over the place. for example...as the page is now.... in normal mode the navigation bar is at the top of the page just to get it to appear where it is now. i have used frames and absolute positioning but i cant get the images and text to appear in the correct place.

thanks for your help
Lisa

Frontpage does this when the image is too large for the space allocated. Check your image size is not too large.

I think you could solve your problem by placing the image in a cell inside table.

This will help your layout. frames and absolute positioning is messy.

If you have a URL or example I'm sure I could fix it for you.

I think your problem has to do with the table/cell sizes. Right click on the table cell and from the drop down click properties. You will see options to set the size in pixels or % and you can also set the cell padding, borders and positioning as well as background colours.

If you make the table a set width and centre on the page then set the cells to a set size or % within the table it should stay put. Some like to have the grow to the size of the minitor but that can mess up the whole look unless you use nested tables.

A great way to learn about layout is to buy one of the templates here (or indeed adapt it to your site) For what they cost (some are $15) they are well worth it. Even if you just use them for the layout the time saved will justify the cost.

(I'm not on commission:))
