Dream Weaver - 4/16/2004 15:16:46
When I started working at my current job I used Homesite. They forced me to use Frontpage. I resisted at first but now am fond of it especially 2003. Well now they have told me we will be switching to Dream Weaver. Where do you recommend I begin to understand the tool and philosophy of the DW interface?

To be honest everytime (2) I've opened it in the past it seemed blank(no interface). Something new to learn.

Thanks!
Rich

Don't worry, the old versions of Dreamweaver used to just stick the tools on your windows desktop on opening which I have to agree was a bit daunting to say the least. The new ones have a proper background and everything. :)

I still can't get to grips with it though. :)

hey Rich,

I had DW for 4 months and all I would do is open it stare then close it.:)

Then it hit me one day. If these folk are so smart then I would think I shoud do the things they suggest I do first. The dreaded tours and tutorials:) :) :)

Guess what! I actually like them. The Macromedia folk are really good at tutorials and learning guides. You can use them with your first project even. I have done at least 10 of them science and they really help :):)

HP has an education site with lots of free courses ( XML, Photoshop, VB, etc.). They just started one about a week ago on Dreamweaver MX. They post two lessons per week online, and have assignments, quizes and a Chat room for your class. Not bad for the basics.:)
