Form email address option greyed out - 10/4/2001 14:23:00
I have conducted searches for this problem across all the forums here, but to my suprise came up empty. I'm posting it here because I think it's a server extensions issue, but it could be my FP configuration or HTML. I am developing a form from my pc and testing it on a production server running W2K/IIS 5.0. Our email server runs Exchange 5.5. From my machine in FrontPage, I am right-clicking my form and selecting Form Properties, attempting to insert an email address, but that option is greyed out. I have checked the server extensions and confirmed that the IP address of our mail server is there, and tried it once with the DNS address as well (all machines are on the same subnet, but there are three websites with unique IPs on the same server.)I have re-published the entire web via FP to make sure it has all the private directories it needs to handle the form. I checked the browser compatibility options from FP just to make sure there was nothing conflicting; I'm set for IE 4.0 and later, and IIS 3.0 and later on the server field. It's probably something simple, but I must be even simpler! Ideas anyone?

Try "Tools>>>Page Options...>>>Compatibilty" and make sure "Enabled with FP extensions" is checked.

You may also want to set the browser type to custom.

Rian,
That was it. Sanity restored. A thousand thank-you's! I've been staring at that sheet so long I didn't even see the check box anymore. Think I'll take a little break and regroup. Oxygen good. Sleep deprivation bad.
