OK, I'll try it your way.

I see Spooky's mucking around with the boards again. The buttons keep changing, you get a view your message box which wasn't there before....... in fact, it's looking more and more like phpbb by the minute!

I've always used images for bullets etc, but will try thatta way

Re my previous post. It only works properly in Moz & FF. In IE the text stays as the bullet colour in Opera the bullet changes to the text colour. I should have tested it more thoroughly before posting.
For cross browser compatibility Jaybee's solution is better.
