I have a client whose site has been down several times in the last few weeks when the host claims there was no problem with the servers. The server status reports back up their claim and I had no complaint from other clients hosted on the same servers - though that admittedly could be because they did not notice.I never got a chance to chack the other sites at the time as I have only learned of the outages later.
However this clients site is a little different to the others on the server in that her domain was originally hosted elsewhere and is (excuse my terminology, I really do not understand this stuff) still sort of there in that there are pointers to the new site form the old server, if that makes sense. So, her mail for example is handled by the old server, not the one where the site is. At least I think it is - I know I cannot set up mail at her domain from the currrent server as I would normally be able to do. I really do not understand this stuff.
Anyway, is it possible that some error in this pointing is causing the site to disappear rather than a problem with the server where the site actually is? Or am I being given the run around by the host?
This is the site if it helps www.workingandliving.com
