tp00 -> iis6 + fp2003 + fpse2002 + email help! (5/3/2004 15:43:42)

Ok, so I have FPSE2002 running on IIS6 and end users are using Frontpage 2002 and 2003. I'm having no luck in getting their FP forms to email. I've set up SMTP on the webserver, I've gone into FPSE and set up SMTP to point to itself with From and Reply to addresses and defaults for mail encoding and character set. The SMTP server works as I can send to it using Microsoft Outlook Express. Frontpage 2003 doesn't complain when it's configured to use the server, and the form doesn't complain when something is submitted to be emailed. The message just disappears into nowhere land as best I can tell.

Any ideas? I can attach some screenshots of any of my IIS configuration if it would be helpful or check any logs. Thanks so much for any help!

Have you set up email in the server extensions for the actual site itself?
It has to be set up for each site.
You can do it in the FP admin or in IIS

Hey Shirley,
I don't have that tab in my IIS like you do. What is needed to get that? Here's a screenshot of my setup

Thanks!

hmmmm.... I don't know. I have always had all of those tabs.
it had IIS5 and FP2000 extensions previously so that is probably why.

I just checked my other server and it has the same tabs as you do.
Sorry for the bad advice.

You can set the email up in the FP admin too
I just do it in IIS cuz it is quicker.

click the settings button on FP2002 and that should take you to this

where you can enter the same info

Yup, I've done that as well. I used the IP address of the webserver itself which I've installed SMTP on, and then just made up email addresses for the From: and Reply-to: fields. Here you can see a screenshot:

It doesn't complain and the settings are saved. Frontpage doesn't complain either. And if I use Outlook Express, I can specify that SMTP and it sends mail through just fine.

ok I figured it out... people using Frontpage had not specificed a Reply-to box in their fields of the form, so it needed to be unchecked from Form Properties -> Options -> Email results tab. Once this was unchecked, the form emailed ok. Thanks for your help!

shawnded -> IIS6, FPSE2002, ASP (9/9/2005 0:53:23)

Hi everyone, i happen to chance upon this discussion forum and hope everyone can help.
I have been trying to configure FrontPage server extension 2002 on my IIS 6.0 web server and facing the same situation as the thread starter.

I was stuck at configuring the FPSE2002 from the web>all tasks tab.
Instead of opening the FPSE interface, it seems to call a fpadm.dll file which i don't know what to do with.

I need the web authoring service for our clients to enter some feedback via a ASP page and relay their data into a database.

Thank you so much for looking into this.
