Okay I did what you all asked, but the problem is this before I can even get to the page good to run the "stinger tool" my sytem gives me the same error and reboots while I am trying to navigate my way to the page how can I can i run the tool to remove the blaster worm if my laptop keeps shutting down. I am running xp pro on it

Boot your computer

Immediately hit the start key and the letter r key simultaneously

type what is below exactly as I show it below:


shutdown -a

Hit the enter key

You'll find it much easier to get help if you don't post multiple threads. I happened to see this one and knoew what you were talking about. Also I suggest you post in the lounge you'll get help there.

Thanks loril its just gone 3 am here and am on my way to bed. I'm tired enough to advise msityping a command or similar.

No prob - I think that he came to me on IM before he came here, and I was not on. I was getting kids to bed - I have already done 4 systems today with this... what a nasty little virus!
