system exception access violation - 5/7/2004 14:31:43
I have tried previous suggestions to publish many times over top. I have tried deleting all files except home page index. I still get this system exception access violation error. Any more suggestions? thanks!

Can you be a little bit more specific with what you are doing (step by step) and maybe a screenshot of the error message you receive?

I am running FP 2000. I am trying to publish only changed pages. It goes through all the motions but hangs up when it is trying to 'process web updates'. See a previous thread entitled 'system exception access violation' for previous suggestions. Sorry I can't figure out how to upload a screen shot. I can email it to you if you think it might be helpful.

It's not you. It's a fault in FrontPage or possibly server extensions.

Check out the following, they've all had similar problems.

If your exact error isn't covered here

Google for "system exception access violation" FrontPage

If you still can't find anything....... Contact Microsoft.

I did some reading and noticed that many others had this issue when templates were used. I am very new to Front PAge and was fooling around one day with templates. I didn't like what I saw and tried to turn it off. I think my problem is related to this as I recall it started happening shortly after. How can I remove all mentions of templates from my web?

Hi I don't know if you found a solution to this problem but I had the exact same situation happen to me. I solved the problem by deleting the contents of the _vti_cnf folder. Upon publishing, Frontpage republished all files in the web but did so without error.

I have many folders so it might take a while, but I 'll give it a try.

I'm getting the exact same error message.

Haven't had problems in the last 4 years with FP, but now that I have added video to one page everything is chaos.

What solution worked for you?
