Frontpage Server Extensions Help - 5/21/2004 14:42:03
I'm moving some sites from one server to another and I have absolutely no experience with Frontpage as I create my forms with ASP. Anyhow, I open the site in Frontpage and then publish it to an IP that I have and it goes well. (I'm using Frontpage 2000 btw.) When I test the forms they say: Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: "http://209.15.112.181/ask_the_mechanic.htm" Also when I right click the page ask_the_mechanic.htm in Frontpage and select properties in the errors tab it says: (1) Saving Form Results to E-Mail will not work unless either the "SMTPHost" or "SendmailCommand" server configuration parameters are set. Anyone know what I'm not doing?

Have you verified that FPE are installed and working?

Thanks so much. Now I'm getting this: FrontPage Error. User: please report details to this site's webmaster. Webmaster: please see the server's application event log for more details. and under the logs it says: Event Type: Warning Event Source: FrontPage 5.0 Event Category: None Event ID: 1000 Date: 6/1/2004 Time: 12:28:01 PM User: N/A Description: Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions: http://209.15.112.181 - Error #160008 Message: The E-Mail address 'tanya@emailaddy.com,tanya@emailaddy2.net' contains illegal characters. The thing is on the current server it works (2 email addys) well but on the one I'm moving to I'm having issues.

I didn't think that you could send out two e-mails like that. Try a search on the forums for sending the same e-mial to two addresses.

Hi Tanya, Welcome to the forum! As BobbyD mentioned, you have the E-mail Results set for multiple emails. I have heard of a user using a comma and a space to get this to work. I don't know what type of server setup this was and it has never before worked for me. I think your error is possibly related to two things: The multiple email accounts and you selected Form field name for reply to but didn't enter the field name. You could send to a forwarding account set to the multiple emails or take a look at my Multiple Email Tute
