!!!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!!!really annoying spell check problem - 6/8/2004 10:41:44
ok you know how you can add a word to spell check well I've accidently added 2 that I don't want and its really annoying because now it doesn't correct them when I spell them wrong. Is there any way to delete words off the custom word list? If not is there at least a way to reset the whole list and start over?

You can do it through Word.

Tools>Options>Spelling & Grammar

You should see a box with the name of the dictionary being used in Office

Click the dictionaries button and then edit and you'll get a list of words. This is assuming that your set up is using common dictionary files.

I don't think you can edit the dictionary via FP.

Search your PC for Custom.DIC. You should be able to open it in NotePad and delete the words in question. Good luck!

Duane is correct, you can't edit the dictionary through FP. If you don't have Word then you'll have to use whatever you do have.

Hi srcwebproduction,

Call me crazy, but if you can't find another recource, try sending your self an email and spell check it that way.

Ok, I know it sounds wierd, but I grew up in the sixtys when wierd was norm.

Search your hard drive for a file named custom.dic
This file should be found under your user profiles directory.

Open the file using a text editor such as notepad. I believe the words will be in alphabetical order.

Hope this helps.
