IIS5.1/FPSE02 and SMTP Setup - 6/15/2004 18:22:36
Need some help please.
I have IIS5.1 with FPSE02 installed and am trying to get a form to send results to email.
I've managed to configure the SMTP service to receive emails sent to it, but when I try to submit a forms page I get the:
Frontpage Error...User please report details...

I'm sure I have something configured wrong. Just don't know what.
What should my SMTP Mail Server field show in SE Settings? The name I gave my SMTP server in MMC (instead of Default Mail Server)?

Microsoft's documentation on the subject is cryptic at best. Any help would be appreciated.

The SMTP server on IIS is a VIRTUAL server, it merely sits and looks pretty. If using IIS, you should really learn ASP along with CDO/CDOSYS to send emails from forms.

I understand IIS's limitations as a mail server (no POP, etc.), but I assumed that it could at least serve a simple SMTP message from a form. I did get it to work using my ISP's SMTP server name. If that was the corrrect method all along then I guess I still don't understand ISS's SMTP function.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
