I have been using frontpage and IIS since 1998. I also have a IIS5.1 server running fine on XP pro at my job. The same type machine is her at home with the same setup. All windows updates are up to date. I cannot open anything with frontpage. I mainly use this webserver as a backup for the other one I have in another room. I try to publish my sites from that one to this new one and it erros saying different possibilities like no extensions installed. I can view the websites on this new server. But anything that uses Frontpage extension will not work. I cannot open any of the sites in MMC as it will tell me "TO OPEN THIS SITE YOU NEED THE FRONTPAGE CLIENT INSTALLED ON THIS MACHINE" I tell you IT IS and im using it a long time. Is this server on CRACK? It installs standard with frontpage 2000 extensions and that didn't work so like at my job machine I installed the 2002 extensions. At work no issues as sharepoint services worked fine. Home same old CRAP. THis is the only 1 out of 5 webservers I run that refuses to work with extensions. ANY IDEAS WHILE I HAVE SOME HAIR REMAINING????????????????????????????????

they want the client here, not the extensions.

The client consists of the Frontpage Program . They want the client on the server

lol I KNOW THIS> if you read this closely I have microsoft Office 2003 XP and frontpage 2003 CLIENT on the server. I have extensions on IIS and the client editor installed. I have 5 other machines with the same setup. No problems. ONLY THIS ONE At home. FIgures.................. That is why my hair is comming out. I HAVE THE FRONTPAGE CLIENT INSTALLED yet it tells me i need it. Infact I used it to access my owth IIS server and edit content. I can opn Frontpage webs on any of those machines with my INSTALLED CLIENT on the machine that TELLS ME I NEED THE CLIENT. Strange yes? I use the client on the very machine that says I need it to access all the other servers. HELP.

I left the MS server world, and my hair has been the better for it[&:]

Yeah I don't understand why this is happening. I can pull up the website like I say. I can view pages etc.. But if I want to open it up in frontpage I can't. It is like the extensions refuse to work. I have done all the checking that they are marked executable. CHeck the extensions and doesnt check them right non of the webs are checked like they should be.. jsut does

Checked no errors found.


Trying to do frontpage aministrations it jsut goes to page cannot be displayed. I dont understand why. Install this the same as others. Of course I am an Administrator so it is not that. Any ideas?
