WIryeman -> Yes/No dropdown population (6/28/2004 16:20:41)

I am using the DBRW in FP2002 to create a dropdown menu to perform a search. I end up with multiple entrys of the same value.

Here is the link for the menu http://www.reitersgrille.com/lakes/fish.asp it is a work in progress. The underlying query in access was built in access and uses yes no option. I am using a query because the need of additional info not available in the underlying table.

The query and underlying table looks something like this:

LakeID| |Northern_Pike||W alleye_Pike| |etc|
1234Water| |Yes/No| |Yes/No| |Y/N|

As you can see I will pass parameters to the result page: Which will show which lakes have different species of fish. I.E. if I choose Northern Pike all lakes with northerns will result. But I have not gotten that far yet. It will result in similar results if you use a similar serach on http://www.reitersgrille.com/Lakes/lakes.asp.

How do I stop the repeating population of the dropdown?
Thanks
Ryeman

To avoid duplicates, you need to use SELECT DISTINCT. For example if you are trying to just display each species,

SELECT DISTINCT Species FROM YourTable

If that doesn't work for you, post the code you are currently trying.
