Hey folks!

Any positive feedback would be appreciated. I know the shopping cart is not complete and stuff like alt tags and page titles, whew![&:]

I am looking for feedback on design and theme vs. mechanics.

Hi Barry, a few things:

1) Is the top green bar meant to be a straight line? In IE6 it doesn't seem to be!
2) Some pages have a bottom bar and others don't. I do like having the bar at the bottom too.
3) The ministry page has 'Charm City Solutions' at the bottom, should this be included on all pages?
4) Check all your font references, still some TNR creeping in there.
5) Tidy up your navigation links, I'd personally centre them inside their | | containers.
6) Some images are slightly poorer quality.
7) Not sure about the colour scheme, it's nice, just a bit, I can't explain.
8) Stylise your form elements using CSS.

Hope they help, I'm sure you'll get a few extra comments than these. Mainly related to ALT tags, removing DreamWeaver special markup etc.

I'd show you but his site is down! Yes, if you use templates it adds tags like: <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="title" --><!-- InstanceEndEditable --> for editable regions, it's not really a problem, just looked at a few of the sites that I've done and I still have those in, the hypocrisy...

ah those... well you need to leave them in if you update the template, at least in your local version of the site. they take up a minimal amount of space so not worth worrying about.

Barry,

delightful color scheme, except for the blue underlines for some of the hyperlinks.

the front page looks really nice though all the other pages have some mild alignment issues in Mozilla.

The pic on the front is gorgeous, but I have to say...I do NOT like the ones inside the site with the halo effect. I guess the idea is to make her look spirit filled, but it makes me feel funny.

I'd rather see some nice, ordinary looking pics there instead.

I agree with Karen the greenish halo is not good.

Thanks Karen and Jaybee,

The big problem with using this shade of green is without the yellow gradent it looks like a big flat army green tent. [:'(]

I did kinda get carried away with the gradient[8D]

What do you think of the random picture script? Go to any inner page and hit the f5 (refresh button), cool huh!

Personally my issue was with the white halo (probably not the best word for it) that is almost like an outline - I don't mind the yellow glow as it flows with the color scheme. The white looks almost electric or something and it makes me think of non - heavenly realms...LOL.

actually, it's just on two images - one is a head shot where she's kind of peeking around and her hair is almost silvery white with this bright light on top; the other one she's standing with her hands upraised - and there's an additional glow right around her body.

barry, I'd suggest "feathering' your selection of her when cutting her and pasting her onto the new background - it looks really harsh instead of smooth; know what I mean? If you feather it about 25-30 you'll have more transparant edges and a smoother paste.

maybe that's what was bugging me more than the fabled white outline...sorry...[8D]

After looking at the original pictures I got those from, there is not alot I can do. She had these pictures taken ouside in full sun!!!

I will see if I can get more>

maybe you can use the clone brush to make it match the rest of her hair - or set your feathering pretty high and select around the hair and then adjust the contrast on that selection to tone the contrast down a little.

I love the clone brush. If you look at the beautiful picture in the banner on this site:

several of those "trees" used to actually be ugly beat up trailers. LOL

the clone brush also helped keep that picture from looking like what it was - two mirrored images side by side instead of a single panaramic picture....

and, looky what it did for these pictures:

Almost ALL of them were touched up with the clone brush, except the kid with Santa (me, hee hee) and the dog. And yes, the dork with the acne is me too. LOL I got a little carried away with the soften brush after I gave myself the clearasil treatment, but still, you get the idea. I think the church, fish, and cougar pictures are the most dramatic....

I did it all with Paint Shop Pro.

Do you have Fireworks? Do You know of the Clone Brush feature in that? I can fine the clone feature but not clone brush

Guess what?? I own PSP!!![8D] Never use it. But I love the clone brush feature. Can you use it with two images? one as source and the other as recipient?

I've never used fireworks - you will have to ask the folks in the graphics forum about how to use the clone in there.

as to using it from one image to another - I don't think so, but you could get around it by copying and pasting both images as new layers in a larger transparent image. You'll have to merge them and then clone away. when you're done, just cut out the image you want to keep, paste as new image, and wah-lah....at least, that's my theory. Never had the idea to do it myself, but now that you mention it I can see where that would come in handy. It just won't work with lots of layers though, as the clone brush in psp will only work in a merged / single layer.

I love my PSP. :0)

Yup You can do two pictures.

Lay them both side by side
select the one that is the source
then simply fill in the other
