"unmatched" files when publishing - 7/10/2004 11:45:33
Hi...............

I've been using FP for a long time (older versions, 2000, 2002) & for the last year (with FP 2002) frequently get "The server could not complete your request" messages during uploads. I just keep trying over and over and eventually it publishes OK. I've paid for microsoft tech. help for this, and all they ever do is tell you to "reinstall" the extensions. That has never helped the problem.

I just purchased the 2003 upgrade..and while uploading a web site update (from my disc based web) I noticed that practically all of the web pages say "unmatched" in the status column, both before and after I publish. I also am still getting the "server error message".
The other web pages say "unchanged" (about 95% are "unmatched" and 5% "unchanged" in the status columns)

Can anyone tell me exactly what "unmatched" means? I'm hoping it has something to do with the publishing problem.

Thanks

Joe,

Funny, this same thing happens to me in FP2003 with the only site I have hosted on a UNIX server.

Do this: connect to your host >>File >> Publish Web, then >>Tools >>Recalculate Hyperlinks. Initially most of my files show "Unmatched". After recalculating hyperlinks they all show "Unchanged" (except the file or files I need to update). Strangely enough, after publishing they all show "Unmatched" again.

It's a good idea to get into the habit of recalculating hyperlinks as a pre-publish step in any case.

As to: "The server could not complete your request" , try disabling your firewall then publish and see what happens:).
