make background transparent - 7/16/2004 16:38:47
Hi. Can someone help.

I need to make the background of the left top logo transparent instead of white.

I usually use PaintShopPro7 (have PhotoShop but not good at it).

http://www.geofbrooks.com/

Can anyone give me some easy steps to do so in PaintShopPro7 or PhotoShopElements.

Thanks. Pat

It's been a while, but I'll try from memory:

In PSP open the file, copy the whole thing.

Then create a new file of the same size, with a transparent background.

Next, create a new layer and paste the copied image to the new layer.

Now you can cut the sections you want to be transparent out of the new layer, which should show the transparent background below...

File > Export > Transparent GIF

That should do it... unless I've forgotten something.

you dont' need to mess with a new layer or even a new image for that matter.

Just open up the image in PSP and then File > Export > Gif, and choose the white part of the image to be transparent. You can then choose to have it blend with the background color too (recommended).
