ssl multiple domains 1 ip iis6 - 7/21/2004 19:52:36
I need to install a second ssl cert on my server But I can't seem to get it to work. If I use the same port the second site wont start. if I use port 444 I get an error. I think I can solve it with an additional ip address but want to know if anyone has done it successfully with one ip, multiple certs, multiple domain.

I'm no expert, but this is my understanding. You can host multiple http websites on a single server with a single public IP address by using host headers. You set up each website to use host headers, by typing in the respective domain name within IIS. However, I believe that you cannot use host headers with SSL because the header section is encrypted ("er - I think"). What you can do is have SSL sites & host header sites co-exist but you do need seperate IP's for the SSL's. eg 123.123.123.123 - mydomain.com / mydomin2.com / mydomain3.com 123.123.123.124 - https://mydomain4.com 123.123.123.125 - https://mydomain5.com hope this helps.
