Confused With PhotoShop (?Layering to Path?) - 7/22/2004 13:12:16
Hello All, I just got PhotoShop ( 7.0 on Win 98se) and have been playing around with different tutorials (much fun) but there is something that i dont understand. At one point i was able to create lines and squares and have it be advertised as a mask but i had done something where now it is displayed as a path. I am no longer able to do operations i need to preform wile my images are in path forma and not in layer.
Once again incase i did not explian well enough. All images i create with the brush or line tool is displayed as a path and i dont want that. I want it to be displayed as a layer as it once was but no longer is. I need information on how to return it back to how it was or information on what is happaning.

do not use the vector tools or the shape tools
paths and selections are different.
try the adobe forums or help within PS

Artpics, I am thrown a little by your reply - why would he not want to use the vector or shape tools?
Anyway, Viralupgrade - try this:
If a tool is giving you problems, try resetting the tool to default settings. In Photoshop you can reset tool settings by clicking the tool icon on the options bar and choosing "Reset Tool" or "Reset All Tools."
If resetting the tools does not fix your problem, try resetting your preferences. Hold down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac) immediately after launching Photoshop. A prompt will ask if you want to delete the preferences file. Click Yes.
Let us know if that fixes your problem.
