Hi All,

I have a client who has given me a graphic done in "Visio" I have not heard of this program. He wants this graphic to be the "Splash Image" on his first page. Problem is I cant open the file and am not sure if it can be converted to something I can use.

The file extenstions he sent me were: .vss & .vsd does anyone have experience with this program? My graphic artist friend has not heard of it either,

Rita,

Visio is a flowcharting/network diagraming - database/software modeling software. Can you zip the files and post them somewhere for download and I'll have a look?

It's open, and free... and looks like it will at least open the file?

Since it is an MS product you can import it into MS WORD. Then cut and paste it to your favorite image editor. I just did it a minute ago.

Dumb question - how do I import it into MS Word to open it? Sorry probably a dumb question,

Have you tried simply opening it with Word?

I've never "imported" anything in Word... but you may be able to open the file and convert it on-the-fly

or maybe open a blank word doc and use insert.....

Hmm... I think it only worked because I have Visio installed on my computer. I could not do the same on my wifes computer.

Try using MS Vision Viewer:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/5/2/452f8090-413f-408f-83c0-edd66db786ee/vviewer.exe

Once you open it in IE, maybe you can copy and paste it into Word.

Anyhow - I went ahead and changed your .vsd file into a .tif file and emailed it to info@artisticwebdesigner.com.

Would you mind resending the image? I did not recieve it? I have been having trouble with my email lately that may be why. You can send it to haroula101@aol that may work better.
