Strange Problem is stranger yet... - 8/3/2004 10:43:18
I've been trying to upload a couple of PDF's to one of the company websites for download but I can't get them to transfer.

This is the "detail" of the error message, which makes no sense since I'm not trying to view a page but transfer a file.

The page cannot be displayed There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed. Please try the following: Click the Refresh button, or try again later. Open the Web site home page, and then look for links to the information you want. If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please contact the Web site administrator by using the e-mail address or phone number listed on the Web site home page. 64 - Host not availableInternet Security and Acceleration Server Technical Information (for support personnel) Background:The gateway has lost the connection with the Web site you are trying to access. ISA Server: egshqisa1 Via: Time: 8/3/2004 2:17:07 PM GMT

I've tried from two different machines with two different version of FP (FP2K3 and FP2K). Also, I have no trouble transferring the same PDF's either to one of my personal sites or another company site hosted on a different server.

When I ping the site I get "server time out". When I tracert I get "Destination Host Unreachable". If I publish the changes using FP the download links page is updated but the new PDF's won't transfer. If I open the site live I can transfer (drag and drop) Word and Excel files but not PDF's. I've tried older PDF's at 75 kb just to be sure it wasn't a file size issue, no joy. I'm at a loss. Ideas?

Checked the MIME types via the host control panel?

Per the Host nothing has changed (save for the constant flow of updates from M$$$ required to be installed:)) . I've been uploading PDF's to the site for a couple of years with no problems previously, this is brand new. The whole site published to my local server without incident and I can work with it normally.
There are no MIME types listed at all (locally), besides shouldn't I be able to transfer a file with any extension from one folder to another? Whether it will run or not is another issue.

technically - yeah

FTp them? I think it's ASCII mode for PDF's....can't remember off the top of my head, it may not be you, it is more likely the host

:):) Seems to have done the trick.
Still I'd like to know why I can't use my "normal" method of drag and drop.:):):)

You may want to look into re-installing the FPSE as a precautionary measure...strange things happen with them

This little problem has now presented itself on my local server. I can no longer update Access dB's or move PDF's to my back up site copies for publishing. All I can think of is that it's related to an update. Any ideas or anyone having this problem? IIS 5.1 BTW

Roll back the updates till you can upload via FP successfully on the PDfs etc
