I need some advice on what to charge for banner ads for a a 4-day campaign.

Also, what would the going rate for adding a link to a newsletter that goes out to about 25,000 members?

What you can charge depends upon lots of factors.

The primary ones are how many click throughs an advertiser can expect to generate and how much a click through is worth to that advertiser.

You can get some idea about the first factor by running an experimental ad and measuring the response. Just create an ad for a business that you would like to have as an ad client. Have the clicks go to a landing page on your site. Measure the traffic on that page. Send the traffic from there to the business. Don't charge for it. It's just an exercize at this point.

The second factor is tricky. A click can be worth dramatically different amounts depending on where it comes from and where it goes. Your audience may or may not consist of individuals with the money or the inclination to purchase the advertised product regardless of wheter or not you're able to entice them to click on the ad.

I seriously doubt that it's possible to get the formula right for every advertiser, and I think it would take some trial and error to come up with a forumula that works best in most cases for you.

A 4 day campaing on a web site doesn't sound promising to me, but I don't know how much traffic you get or how inclined your traffic would be to act on the advertisement.
