Error Message - 8/24/2004 11:21:22
Hello All, I've learned a lot from this forum, but I'm not a big poster. I'm stuck! I've created my home page in Front Page. When i try to go to Preview Mode (still in Front Page), a box pops up that says "An error has occurred in the script on this page." I have not added any script (on purpose anyway). I do have an intro that was created in SwishMax and play on Flash players. I have saved a print screen of the e-mail, but I cannot upload it. My private e-mail is webmaster2@cheerpower (if you think this might help and would like me to send it to you). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Maggie

I do have an intro that was created in SwishMax that would involve a script to invoke the .swf file and is probably where the error is. are you using "Preview in Browser"? I would

Two things: (1) if you have SwishMax, import the file, see if it will play there, then, assuming it does, save then export to FrontPage overwriting the old files (swi and html), or, if this doesn't work (2) get the template developer to debug and send you a good file.

Ive never used swish so let me try to address it in terms of Flash - maybe it will be the same. A Flash movie publishes as a .swf file which I am pretty sure Swish creates - how else would a Flash player show it. As Larry suggests, find that .swf locally on your system and click it - it should play. Secondly, when you publish in Flash, it also creates an html file which is the script that calls the player and the movie - this is pasted into your page code (and it is vital that the .swf file reside in the same folder or root), you may need to republish that or..back to my earlier post..it you are looking at it it FP's basic Preview mode, it wont work there. find the page outside of FP - via windows explorer and click the file to open in your browser independant of FP - then try it.
