Looking For A New Host - 8/30/2004 23:35:05
:)My site is now hosted by bcentral. It's really easy to work with and I have few complaints. I like to put streaming video on my site and mp3's. This uses up my site traffic limit very quickly. I just purchase Swish2 and I love the effects I can make but I've notice these small flash files are sucking up bandwidth. I'm allowed 10000mb per month for $29.95 monthly. Is there another host that can give me more for the money? I'd also like to try some php stuff and bcentral doesn't support that. Any suggestions?????

10GB for 30/month is a pretty good deal. I doubt you can find something that cheap with good support.

Let us know where you decide to go and how it works out.

Just a word of warning.

When looking for hosting with an eye to increasing the amount of available bandwidth, it is easy to be seduced by the many hosts offering "Unlimited Bandwidth".

Don't be, there is no such thing.

In fact I would go as far as saying avoid hosts that offer this altogether - they are not being upfront about this when selling, so I find it hard to accept that they will suddenly become honest and wonderful after you hand over your money.

There is a good article on the topic here:
