Dave...if you want you design on the web....you need to do a few things:

1. Become a Forum Mod
2. Supply either the Fireworks PNG or Phtoshop PSD along with a cut and coded Valid XHTML/CSS version
3. Prove knowledge in any of the areas on the forums
4. SPeak to me nicely

:)

i already do design on the web (?)

no point doing an (x)html layout before i even know whether you're interested in the design. of course i have the layered FW comp. but there's no point uploading that as it is way big (filesize), of course i it's readily available should anyone require it. it was just more of an easier way to describe the sort of idea for your forum

1. no thanks
2. see above
3. i've already proved that i'm er a bit knowledgable in er some bits, read my posts
4. that's always the hardest bit :)

anyway i was just being mardy 'cos you didn't want it :)

I did like Dave's design a bit better Dan... LOL, I laughed at your colours comment cos you said:

quote:

colors aren't quite right, but whaddaya expect with only Notepad and MS Paint/MS Photo Editor to work with :o)

But really, if you're controlling the colours via CSS, and using Hex colours all you'd need to do was find colours that you liked on the web?! Then type those 3/6 digits into Notepad? You can't say you're limited to a text editor, because it's more than sufficient to complete a design task.

p.s. you were a tad nasty to Dave!

Mark

I'm at work....they won't even fork out for PSP...

Not quite so easy...when working from a graphic with only Notepad, MS Paint and MS Photo Editor at you disposal, you can't just get the Hex color out of them...and finding a match on the net is tricky to find.

And can I not for once be cheeky without getting flacked for it?

If you have any other ideas Dave....please...share..I'm just not keen on that particular one

Dan

Dan,

http://www.creatingonline.com/online_image_editor/

You can open an image and select a colour from there, also converts it to hex, might help you out?

Not with MS Paint at the mo...lol....only does 256 colors....I made the template using RGB8 in PSCS....

So before I go at it again!...any more ideas from you lot?

Dan

PS. Mark, your go...it's a bit too digital for the sites purpose

Dan

Tone your orange down a bit, vertically centre your header text, make your own CSS/HTML validation buttons, experiment with different background colours (the #EFEFEF or whatever you're using blends in with the white a little too much) you're obviously going to sharpen your curve image so that's fine, a tad more right padding in your content. Oh yeah, maybe experiment with the bottom border of your header, making it a bit bigger i.e. 5px or something just to see how it looks.

Don't tone the orange down. That is the orange that you want to use. It just need be approached differently.

I will make something instead of trying to do this...

Give me a bit Dan. I am swamped.
