Installing Front Page 2002 extensions on UNC mounted we... - 9/2/2004 13:37:00
I'm sorry if this is a little out of what you guys normally deal with, but I'm in serious need of some help.

I need to find a way to install the front page 2002 extensions on a Windows 2003/IIS 6.0 server that mounts the websites from a networked file system.

This file system is supplied by a NetApp, so it's not a windows box, or a linux box per say. We do how ever use windows services for unix to mount the home directories and keep security. This has worked great for normal hosts, and basic needs, but anyone needing frontpage 2002 extensions can't use it because FP 2002 requires a NTFS file system. I'm wondering if any of you have gotten past this problem, or found a solution that might be able to help us out of this bind. I've read a lot of the new groups and went through the steps on getting a windows share to work with FP 2002, but so far I have had no luck.

Right now our current setup is a single machine running Windows 2003 Server with no domain controller. Most of the fixes/hacks require a domain controller, or use a domain controller for the trick. If anyone has any ideas on how to get FP 2002 support with it ignoring the NTFS file system requirement, I'm all ears.

Thanks again for your help

Chris G.
