Not bad you forgot a few basic things I think you should have mentioned in the article ...

your title should match your h1 tag ... and you should use h2 tags which contain keywords and or phrases from your h1 tag. That a sitemap is essential and that menu links if done with js or graphics should be repeated in text... I think you should have gone into more detail on how to write the tags with the keywords and phrases for seo purposes... Also one should have a privacy policy...

It read well though:)

If you want to learn more try Cricket's SEO classes they are free and basic but you get a lot .. there are also css html and other classes that run along side if you want to follow them at the same time .. it's amazing how it all starts to fit together once you have done the lessons a few times... read the guidelines and follow them. It's a class not a group or list.
