I have a problem I cannot find an answer to:

When I open FrontPage (2003), Windows XP starts the "Windows Installer " dialog. After the first few times this happened I decided to uninstall the other program to completely to avoid this conflict. Now, Windows is trying to install another program, one which I would prefer to keep on my computer. I must press cancel numerous times to finally stop this action. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It's not trying to install another program. FP is looking for the components that have been removed when you removed other Office related programs, or upgrade to FP2003. Let the install run through, it will not install any other program, merely configure the FP installation. Once run, it shouldn't run again
